Tulsi Green Tea Recipe

If you are a fan of basil, then you will certainly enjoy this delicious tea. Tulsi or the holy basil is a medicinal plant, commonly found in Indian households. Excellent for health, basil is known for fighting acne, protecting against diabetes, it lowers stress levels, helps in preventing respiratory disorders, is a good source of Vitamin K and improves oral health. Termed as the queen of herbs, Tulsi or basil, should be a part of our daily diet. If you find it hard to mix the flavors of this leaf with your food, and don’t prefer consuming it as is, then Tulsi green tea is your best bet. Tulsi is a rich source of antioxidants and so is green tea, which is why it has the powers to neutralize the damage caused by free radicals as well as oxidative stress. A cup of Tulsi green tea will really help you remain calm and work properly throughout the day.

Ingredients

  • 8 to 10 Leaves Tulsi
  • 4 Teaspoon Honey
  • 1 Liter Water
  • 2 Teaspoon Green tea

Instructions

  1. Be sure to wash the Tulsi leaves thoroughly before chopping them up roughly. 

  2. Boil water in a saucepan, and add the green tea in it, to this add the Tulsi leaves and allow it to steep for 5 to 10 minutes depending on how intense you want your brew. Remove the lid from the saucepan and add honey to it. Mix it well and enjoy it warm. 

  3. If you are health conscious then you could easily skip on the honey.

  4. You could also refrigerate this mixture and have it as an iced tea because the flavors remain as good even after cooling it down.
