What Is Non-Organic Tea And Is It Bad for You?

Organic seems to be the keyword when it comes to healthy eating. Organic food products are really popular amongest the health conscious. However, is non-organic as bad as projected?

Best Organic green tea has built a reputation for itself, for being exceptional for good health, however, let us find out the difference between organic and inorganic tea. The question of whether organic choices are any better than non-organic food products has plagued the consumers. Most health bloggers reiterate that organic tea is much safer and healthier than the inorganic option. To make an informed decision, the consumers needs to know about the difference between the two variants.

For a food material to be certified organic, it has to be approved by a government inspector. Best organic green tea is made without the use of pesticides, herbicides, and other chemical fertilizers. Different governments have different standards of labeling tea. Is organic tea any healthier than the non-organic counterpart is the main question? It has been observed by many studies that the nutritional content between organic and non-organic tea is not all that different. Having said that, non organic tea might have traces of synthetic fertilizers in very small quantities. Plus, there is no substantial difference when it comes to taste, between the two options.

Is non-organic tea safe for health?

Growing organic tea is not easy, it is a time taking process which is followed by few passionate farmers, who have the time and money to invest in this type of harvesting. Most tea companies take to non-organic farming because it is easier, the product can be harvested in large quantities, the processing of the tea is much faster and more than anything, it is cheaper. Looking from the business point of view, there no reason why tea farmers won’t prefer growing non organic tea.

So, is this tea safe for consumption? Certainly yes! People from across the globe have been consuming non-organic packaged tea since years. It may not have as many health benefits as organic tea, but it certainly is not unsafe for consumption. For those who cannot buy expensive organic tea, non-organic tea seems to be the only feasible option. There has been no considerable health hazard noticed in people consuming this kind of tea, over a long period of time. Yes, it does not taste as good as the organic tea, sometimes, and also, has lesser health benefiting properties, but it certainly is not an unsafe option.

As with any produce, organic certification is just a label, and lots of large plantations are cashing in on organic caché while still engaging in unsustainable practices. Many small farms that can’t afford the organic certification process work in far more sustainable ways. The demand for organic tea has catapulted and skyrocketed over the years, in fact, there is pressure on more and more farmers to go organic, to meet the market demands, but, in many countries, the organic certification is just a marketing means. Coming to the taste part, it has been noted that many times, organically grown tea taste worse than its counterpart. You do not necessarily have to pay the extra premium to get hold of “organic” certified tea, instead, you can stick to your old option: the infamous non-organic tea, because it is just as good, maybe a little weaker when it comes to nutritional elements, but otherwise it is just as fine.
